The new Ferrari F80, with a 1200-horsepower hybrid powertrain, left Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz Jr. highly impressed during their initial test at the Fiorano circuit. This new creation from Ferrari, the crown jewel of the brand, is setting new benchmarks for performance and technology, solidifying its place as a leader among road-going supercars.

Ferrari F80: The 1200hp Hybrid Hypercar

The Ferrari F80 is the car everyone is talking about, and for good reason. As the pinnacle of Ferrari’s road cars, it follows in the footsteps of legendary models like the GTO, F40, F50, Enzo, and LaFerrari. The F80 raises the bar even higher, benefiting from a close connection to the 499P, which won the 24 Hours of Le Mans in the last two editions. The excitement surrounding this hypercar is evident, especially from Leclerc and Sainz Jr., both of whom were eager to experience its performance.

During the test, conducted with a camouflaged prototype showcasing its final design, both drivers were thoroughly impressed. Leclerc described the F80 as the best road-going Ferrari he’s ever driven, highlighting its dynamic versatility and perfect balance between extreme performance and everyday drivability. Both Leclerc and Sainz Jr. expressed how the F80 felt like a race car, yet still incredibly predictable, making it enjoyable even for non-racers.

Ferrari F80: Features and Performance

Under the stunning exterior of the Ferrari F80 lies a 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 hybrid powertrain, producing 900 horsepower from the internal combustion engine and 300 horsepower from the electric units, totaling 1200 horsepower. This extraordinary output results in acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.1 seconds and 0 to 200 km/h in 5.75 seconds. With a top speed around 350 km/h, the F80 is not just fast—it’s one of the fastest Ferraris ever made.

The Ferrari F80 has also shown exceptional performance on the track. While the exact lap time on Fiorano has not been officially released, it’s clear that the F80 outperforms models like the SF90 XX Stradale, getting closer than ever to the performance levels of a racing car.

Both Carlos Sainz Jr. and Charles Leclerc had nothing but praise for the Ferrari F80, calling it a game-changer in the supercar world. Their genuine excitement and awe during the test only add to the hype surrounding this revolutionary model from Ferrari.
